About FMS Direct - Rodney H. Buchser

Rodney H. Buchser, President and Founder of FMS Direct, is a recognized leader in the field of Direct Response Television (DRTV). He has devoted the last twenty-nine years of his professional career to advertising, production and marketing and has, quite possibly, produced more Direct Response Commercials and Infomercials than any other Producer/Director in the DRTV industry. Mr. Buchser is the author of the book, "Call Now, 1-800…Highway to the Electronic Goldmine", considered by many to be the most comprehensive on the subject of direct response advertising,

Prior to forming FMS (formerly Financial Marketing Services) in April of 1983, Mr. Buchser created the national cable programming service, the Financial News Network, (now known as CNBC’s daytime programming). While at FNN, Mr. Buchser was instrumental in developing FNN's unique programming format while establishing a network of affiliates which totaled over 40 million cable/broadcast households. As General Manager of FNN, he was directly involved in generating over 75% of the network's sales revenues for the first few years--all from direct response advertising. From 1976 to 1980, Mr. Buchser was the Operations Manager and Program Director for the Business Channel, KWHY-TV, Los Angeles, California. From 1972 to 1976, he was the Production Director and Cinematographer for a Japanese advertising agency and production company, United Television Broadcasting.

As a direct response television specialist and marketing consultant to production companies and advertising agencies, Mr. Buchser’s Integrated Marketing and Business Plans have helped raise millions of dollars for start-up companies successfully launching new products to the global marketplace. Overall, FMS Direct has helped to quietly generate billions of dollars in sales revenues for some of the most successful corporations in the world. Rodney has also produced a feature film, dozens of television specials, and introduced many products to the home shopping channels and the "mass merchandising" retail marketplace.

Mr. Buchser received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University in 1971 and did post graduate work towards his Masters at Columbia College in 1971 and 1972 in Telecommunications and Cinematography. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife of thirty years, and their two daughters.
